Pawmi and its evolutions Pawmo and Pawmot are new Pokémon added in Scarlet and Violet. Evolution from Pawmi into Pawmo is as simple as leveling it to level 18. Evolving Pawmo into Pawmot requires it to walk 1000 steps. This guide will show you how to quickly evolve your Pawmo into Pawmot.
Walk 1000 Steps Quick and Easy
To evolve Pawmo into Pawmot, you will need to make it walk 1000 steps in “Let’s Go” mode. This is the mode where your Pokémon automatically battles enemies and picks up items. You can put them in this form by pressing ZR.
Once Pawmo is out of its ball, you will need to make it walk. The easiest way to do this is to get above it by jumping with your mount. The Pawmo will attempt to reach you, forcing it to run around underneath you.
Getting it to consistently keep running takes a bit of testing to find the right spot. Make sure you can see it and that it hasn’t stopped moving. Staying on your mount seems to help keep it in a loop.
After no more than 10 minutes of consistent running, Pawmo will be ready to evolve. It will have to earn another level (other than auto battles) to trigger the evolution. Unfortunately, there is no way to know if you have passed the steps threshold or not other than leveling up.
Is Pawmot Worth Getting?
You’ll need to evolve at least one to complete your Pokedex, but Pawmot is worth getting anyway. You can do this early into the game for a final evolution with strong stats and good typing, it’s a great addition to your team.
Also, Pawmot learns a unique move when it evolves that only one other Pokémon can learn. Revival Blessing revives one of Pawmot’s team members to 50% health. It only has 1 PP, but this game changing move can easily turn the tide of competitive battles.
