Chansey Experience Farm

Experience earned in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is based on the amount of HP the defeated Pokémon had. This means that Chansey is the perfect Pokemon to farm for experience due to its high health. This guide will show you how to quickly farm Chansey for experience in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Pre-Farm Setup

To farm Chansey for experience quickly and efficiently, you will need the “Encounter Power: Normal” Meal Power from sandwiches. This buff will GREATLY increase the spawn rate of Chansey in the farming area since they are the only Normal type Pokémon that can spawn there.

Fly to Mesagoza (West) to buy Ham Sandwich ingredients

The easiest way to get this Meal Power is by making Ham Sandwiches. You know this recipe by default, and it only requires four easy to obtain ingredients. Remember that Meal Powers only last 30 minutes, so consider buying enough ingredients to make a few sandwiches. Fly to Mesagoza (West) and buy the following:

  • (1) Artisan Bakery
    • Ham
    • Mayonnaise
    • Mustard
  • (2) Sure Cans
    • Pickle

Once you have the Ham Sandwich ingredients, make your way to the Pokémon Center for North Province (Area Three). This is the location of the Team Star Fairy type group. Chansey normally have a low chance of spawning in this area, but the Encounter Power will make them spawn often. There are other locations with higher level Chansey, but this area is the most consistent at spawning them.

The best spot to farm Chansey is on the grassy East side of North Province (Area Three)

Set up your Picnic using the option on the X Menu. Interact with the table to make sandwiches. Make a Ham Sandwich. This will increase the spawn rate of Chansey and allow you to farm them non-stop for the 30 minute duration. Remember that Chansey have a large amount of Special Resistance, but very little Physical Resistance. They are also weak to Fighting moves.

At this point you can either farm them with the Auto-Battle system or fight them normally. Fighting normally will allow your Pokémon to evolve and inform you of new moves. Auto-Battling will save your PP so you won’t have to go back to the Pokémon Center.
