Wood Farming

Wood is a resource for crafting furniture and other items in the Serenitea Pot player housing in Genshin Impact.

Wood is obtained by attacking trees around the world with a melee weapon. Only Sword, Greatswords, and Spears will produce wood; Bows and Catalysts do not work.

Every eligible tree can produce three wood. There doesn’t seem to be a timeout, so you should be able to get three from every tree. Fast attacks like Sword and Spear may be too quick, requiring up to four attacks.

Multiple trees can be hit at the same time, meaning long reaching Greatsword swings, while slower, may be able to hit multiple trees at once, speeding up overall acquisition.

Not every tree will produce wood, though MOST do. A tree that will produce wood will shake when struck by a melee weapon. Trees that do not produce wood generally have a very large trunk or have substantially curved trunks.

Wood Types

Fragrant Cedar Wood

Fragrant Cedar Wood can be found in lower elevations, mainly in the Mondstadt region. This tree generally has green leaves and multiple branches near the top. While this type of tree is quite common in Mondstadt, here are some good concentrated farming spots to consider:

Fir Wood

Fir Wood is very common in the higher elevation areas on Mondstadt. You can recognize Fir Trees by their straight trunk and green-blue tinted leaves. There isn’t really a “best” place to farm these, but usually where there is one, there are a lot. Check these general areas and you should find plenty of them, though they are a bit spread out:

Birch Wood

Birch Trees are a bit more rare than Cedar and Fir, but are in large abundance in certain locations. You can identify Birch Trees by their white bark and light green or yellow leaves. These farming locations will have plenty of Birch Trees to harvest. They won’t be grouped up too tightly, but you can pretty consistently farm them with minimal downtime.

Pine Wood

Pine Wood comes only from the frozen trees in Dragonspine. There are three types of these trees: snow covered with blueish leaves, sparse brown leaves, and trees with no leaves. While these are found all over Dragonspire, there is no great concentrated spot. This is a decent spot if you are seeking Pine Wood:

Sandbearer Wood

Almost every tree in Liyue will give Sandbearer Wood when struck. The trees can have green, yellow, or red leaves. They generally branch out, often lower down the trunk than Cedar Trees. There is no good place to farm these, but you can just hit almost every tree you see while you’re doing things in Liyue. Trees that are very bent at their trunk or trees that have a very large trunk will not produce any wood.

Cuihua Wood

Cuihua Wood comes only from fruit trees like Sunsettia and Apple Trees. These only spawn in a few places, making them the rarest of the trees currently. Luckily, you can use the official map Genshin Impact Online Map to track Sunsettia and Apples, which will point you to where these trees are.

Bamboo Segment

Bamboo trees are an uncommon tree to see, appearing in only a few locations. However, where they do exist, there are a lot of them. The best farming location is between the two waypoints west of Qingce Village. These are also tightly grouped, meaning you can farm multiple at a time, especially with a Greatsword.
