This request from Rita in New Pokemon Snap takes place in the Illumina Spot in Florio Nature Park. Despite what the request text tells you to do, you will not only need to find Meganium’s Pal, you will also need to scare Meganium into falling down. There is a bit of RNG involved, but you can reroll over and over right at the start until you get the path you need.
How to Complete Meganium’s Pal
Select Research Level 2. Meganium can have up to four spawns on Research Level 2. Two of these locations are on the left with Eevee. The other spawns on the right are the ones you will need, with no Eevee.
Reroll the map by selecting Retry from the Pause Menu until Meganium is on the right side of your path, in the distance. As long as Meganium is on the right side, be it awake or asleep, he will walk on the left side of the final tree as required for the request.
The only way to divert him from the correct path when he spawns on the right is to trigger his sprint animation from the second flower. So, if you are going for this request, just do the bare minimum described here to guarantee you get it to work.
Throw Illumina Orbs up onto the cliff to scare out Meganium’s Pal Shaymin. Shaymin will run to the edge of the cliff and wait to be picked up by Meganium.
Hoothoot can be knocked out of the final tree by throwing a fluffruit into the leaves above the trunk. Fruit thrown into other spots will produce Combees instead. Wait to trigger Hoothoot until Meganium stops for the second time behind the tree and looks around.
Hoothoot falling from the tree will scare Meganium into falling down. Take a picture of it in this position to complete the request. The scared state is a four star category for Meganium.
