Resource Wells are an essential source of certain basic resources.
Resource Wells are very similar to Resource Nodes, but instead produce a non-solid (liquid or gas) output. Additionally, wells do not have associated Resource Deposits like nodes do.
Resource Wells include a main central well and multiple smaller wells. There are fewer wells around the map than Resource Nodes and are generally considered as mid to late game resources as the buildings needed to extract material from them are late into the tech tree.
Resource Wells produce a liquid or gaseous material that can be moved using Pipelines and other types of liquid/gas transportation. For solid materials that use Conveyor Belts, see Resource Nodes.
Materials that come from their associated Resource Well:
- Crude Oil*
- Water**
- Nitrogen Gas
* Crude Oil can also be found as Resource Nodes. These nodes use an Oil Extractor rather than a Resource Well Extractor.
** Water can also be obtained from any sufficiently deep body of water using Water Extractors.
Finding Resource Wells
Since the Satisfactory map is hand crafted, Resource Wells will always exist in the same location for everyone. You can use third party tools to review maps of Resource Well locations, but the intended way to find wells in game is with the Resource Scanner.
The Resource Scanner (default V) can be used to mark the location of wells on the map and compass. Holding the button will allow you to select which type of material you want to scan for. Tapping the button will scan for the most recently scanned resource type.
Extracting Resources
Resource Wells cannot be mined by hand. You must place suitable buildings and supply them with Power. Most Resource Wells require a Resource Well Pressurizer which will allow for multiple Resource Well Extractors.
The Resource Well Pressurizer is placed on the main well. When supplied with sufficient Power, the pressurizer will enable harvesting from the outer wells. To extract from those wells, you will need to build Resource Well Extractors. Each extractor will produce material into a Pipelines independent of the other extractors. Of course, you can combine the outputs using Pipeline Junctions if desired.
Well Purity
The smaller outer Resource Wells all have a specific level of purity. This determines how much can be extracted per second with Resource Well Extractors.
Each outer well has its own purity that can be different than the other nearby wells. There is no way to change well purity; it is always the same for a specific well location.

You can tell how pure a well is in its description when looking at it. Third party maps of Satisfactory can also tell you how pure a well is and where they are located.
