Milestones are the main form of progression in Satisfactory. Each new Milestone achieved will unlock new Buildings, Equipment, and Recipes for use in you factory.
Milestones are grouped into tiers. The Space Elevator is used to unlock new tiers. Each phase of the Space Elevator unlocks two (2) new Milestone Tiers. To advance to a new pair of tiers, you will have to finish the associated Space Elevator Phase.
How to View and Select Milestones
You can view your available Milestones and review Milestones you have completed by interacting with the computer terminal across from the craft bench in the main HUB.
Select an unlocked Milestone Tier and then a specific Milestone in the interface to view the required items and the completion rewards. You can select and work on any Milestone in the tiers you have unlocked (except for the tutorial, Tier 0, which must be completed sequentially).
Select the Milestone you wish to work on and it will track the requirements and your progress in the top right of the screen. Progress is saved if you change your active Milestone, but only one can be tracked at a time.
Completing Milestones
Items for each Milestone are turned in at the same place you select them, the computer across from the craft bench at the HUB. You can view the remaining required items for your active milestone in the top right of your screen.
You will need to turn in items by hand; there is no way to automate Milestone submission.
Once enough of a specific item have been submitted, the item will show a check mark denoting you do not need to submit more.
Once every item has a check mark, you can submit the completed Milestone, unlocking the associated rewards. This will put your HUB on a cooldown, forcing you to wait before submitting more items for a different Milestone.
Marv’s Tips
When you get to a new tier, you should read through the unlocks of that tier to decide which Milestones will be most beneficial for your factory.
Try to identify the current limiting section of your factory. Check your Conveyor Belts and wee which ones are not fully saturated. See if any of the unlocks can help fix that issue, and prioritize that Milestone first.
Here are some solutions to common limiting factors:
- Not producing enough raw materials: New Miners, long range transport options (Vehicles, Trains) to move material from further nodes
- Not enough processed intermediate materials: New Smelters, exploration options to help find Hard Drives for alternate recipes
- Power low: New Power sources, long range transport options (Vehicles, Trains) to move material from further nodes
- Conveyor Belts fully saturated: New Conveyor Belt tiers, configurable Splitters and Mergers to handle distribution
- Not enough empty space to expand: Explosives, Chainsaw, stackable Conveyor Belts and Pipes
Since you will need to submit items by hand for Milestones, it’s a good idea to have to finished Milestone products feed into a Storage Container so you can pull them out all at once. These containers can also be hooked up with an output (to act more as buffers) to feed back into the factory. Buffers help give good idea of which items your factory is waiting on and can help smooth your production chain.
