The Space Elevator is mainly used to unlock new Milestone research. It is also a measure of your overall progress, where completion of the final phase is generally considered to be the ‘end’ of the game.
Building the Space Elevator
The Space Elevator is initially unlocked by completing Tier 0 Milestone “HUB Upgrade 6” which is essentially the end of the initial tutorial.
Once unlocked, the Space Elevator can be found in the ‘Special’ tab of the Construction tab of the Build Gun. In addition to a large empty space, it requires the following materials to build:
- 500 Concrete
- 250 Iron Plate
- 400 Iron Rod
- 1500 Wire
Using the Space Elevator
Once built, the Space Elevator can start accepting item inputs based on the current Phase. The required items will be tracked on the top right of your UI.
Supplying the required items will complete the phase, unlocking two new Milestone Tiers. The items can be submitted by hand or using the multiple Conveyor Belt input slots. You cannot recover the items once they are submitted (though the items the Space Elevator accepts don’t have any other uses).
Once all of the required items have been submitted, you can pull the lever in the UI to seal and launch them into space, completing the current phase and progressing to the next.
